Had the duct through the ceiling replaced with flexi-stuff, and added a send and return to the room. Its definitely fatter than I expected. Had to feverishly do the void drywall work while the guys were doing the duct work. I just barely made it. They were literally nailing up the flexi-duct while I was driving the last screw for the void. In the last picture the 90 degree turns can be seen which I hope will reduce transmission of noise.
